Your school's parent organization is great place to start when looking to get some funding to start your space. Below are some examples of PTO proposals. You could also borrow materials from another school to give your parents a chance to get a first hand look at making.

Donors Choose
Donors Choose is an excellent website for creating a classroom project to get Makerspace materials funded by donors in your community and around the world. The ICCSD requires that you fill out a form prior to submitting a project. That form and examples of project wording are below.

Donated items
Starting a Makerspace can be as simple as asking for items donations from school families, friends and the community. The materials list provides several examples of FREE or very inexpensive items to get your makerspace up on the ground.
Communication
Getting the word out is so important to promoting your space and getting "buy in" from administrators, staff, students and parents. Promotion can take on many forms.
